DAR Facility Spaces
For researchers who house animals in DAR-managed facilities or use DAR procedure rooms
The Facility Inspection Ready Checklist focuses on:
Cage card accuracy and housing documentation
Post-operative monitoring records
Hazard labeling (biohazard/chemical)
Drug, supply, and disinfectant expiration tracking
For researchers conducting animal procedures in laboratory spaces: Please ensure that a knowledgeable designee, listed on the applicable approved protocol(s), is available to meet and accompany the inspection team, and inform the IACUC office in advance of the designated individual.
The Lab Spaces Inspection Ready Checklist focuses on:
Proper labeling of drugs, chemicals, and supplies
Removal of expired materials
Annual Animal Refresher Training confirmation
Protocol and SOP availability
Posting DAR contact information and Animal Welfare Reporting Instructions
